MOUNT VERNON — Dawn Elizabeth Barnes, 61, of Garland, Texas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Autumn Health Care, in Mount Vernon.

She was born Oct. 27, 1952, in Mount Vernon, to the late D.R. “Pat” and Bettie (Robinson) Barns. Dawn was an athlete and enjoyed golf, martial arts, which she won many trophies. Her main love was horses and taking dressage lessons. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon high School and Ohio Northern School of Pharmacy. She was a pharmacist for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, P.R. “Rick” Barnes.

She is survived by four cousins, Sondra (John) Hampton, Bradley Hampton, John Jr. Hampton and Sherry Wilson; and many friends in Ohio and in Texas.

The family will observe a memorial service at a later date.
