MOUNT VERNON — Rose N. DeLembo, 93, formerly a Euclid, Ohio, resident, died peacefully in her sleep Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the Emeritus at HillenVale Assisted Living Center. Rose was born in Cleveland, on Dec. 21, 1920, to Domenic and Susie (Barth) DeLembo (who were from Italy).

Rose resided in the Cleveland area until 2009 when she made her home at Emeritus at HillenVale. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the “wonderful” staff at HillenVale for their loving care, along with her new friends (who named her “Rosie” and “Rose of all Roses”), for making HillenVale her home.

She retired from the Electrical Group of Reliance Electric (now Rockwell International/Automation).

Rose was a devote Christian and taught Sunday School while part of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Cleveland prior to attending Calvary Assembly of God in Willoughby Hills, Ohio.

Along with her love for God, family was the most important. She enjoyed family gatherings with her nieces and nephews, traveling, dining out with family as well as with her special circle of friends. Her hobbies included gardening roses, crafting and baking.

Rose had a gentle spirit with a Christ-like demeanor toward others. While we mourn for our loss, Rose was very clear that, if you follow Christ, then you will celebrate with her as she enters into eternal rest in the presence of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Daniel and Peter. She is survived by a beloved sister-in-law, Dorothy DeLembo (Peter); a dear childhood friend, Madeline Sieminski; her beloved cousins, Russell (Kathi) Barth, Jane Martorello and Millie DeMent; a nephew, Paul (Anna Marie) DeLembo; nieces, Donna (Robert) Simmerman to whom was her caregiver, Diane Siko, Susan Falzone, Sharon (John) Golob and Loretta (Thomas) Faith; and 11 great- and 19 great-great dearly loved nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held Monday, at 1 p.m., at Calvary Assembly of God, 28870 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio, with Pastor Daniel DeLembo officiating. Visiting hours will begin, at noon, at the church one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Whitehaven Park Cemetery — Mausoleum, 615 S.O.M Center Road (Rt. 91), Mayfield Village, Cleveland, OH.

Memorial expressions may be made in Rose’s memory to Calvary Assembly of God or Acclaim Hospice of Columbus, 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 140, Columbus OH 43231.
