LAS CRUCES, NEW MEXICO — Dwight Lee Miller, 63, lost his battle with pneumonia Saturday, Jan. 25, 1950, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was the youngest of seven children born Dec. 31, 2014, in Mount Vernon, to Isaac William Burl and Gertude Earlene (Hawk) Miller.
Dwight married Laura (Valles) Miller on Dec. 12, 1989, in Arizona. He is survived by three children, Jaide (David) Hardan, and David and Laura Elizabeth Miller of the home. Dwight had one grandson, Giovannie. He is also survived by siblings, Carl (Georgia McCune) Miller of Mount Vernon, Allen (Judy DeBusk) Miller of Bremerton, Wash., A. Roy (Linda Burson) Miller of Mt. Gilead, James (Dixie Burson) Miller of Fredericktown, and Thomas (Sue Wells) Miller of Howard.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1997, his mother in 2001 and his sister, Anna Mae (Eugene) Bennett in 2002.
Dwight graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1968 and Ohio State University in 1972. He retired from White Sands Test Facility with 33 years of service in 2010.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Venus Chapel. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery.
