MARTINSBURG — Joseph P. Cella, 77, of Martinsburg, passed away Jan. 27, 2014, at the Whispering Hills Care Center. He was born March 17, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Anthony Cella Sr. and Margaret (DeBendentio) Cella.
Joseph was a U.S. Air Force and Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene (Wolfe) Cella; four sons, Michael Cella of Wooster, Patrick (Gina) Cella of Bellville, Matthew Cella of Martinsburg and Andrew (Becky) Cella of Johnstown; two daughters, Kathleen (Chuck) Reamsnider of Apple Creek and Nita Dye of Fredericktown; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Anthony (Jeanie) Cella Jr. of Hellertown, Pa.; and two sisters, Rachael Gioseffi of Simi Valley, Calif., and Rose Merlo of Bellmore, N.Y.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Cella.
Friends may call Thursday, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Martinsburg Cemetery on S.R. 62.
