WOOSTER — Shirley A. Clifton, 80, of Wooster, formerly of Mount Vernon and Marshall, Minn., died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Wayne County Care Center in Wooster.

Shirley was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Charles Franklin and Iva Catherine Tier Edmister. On May 22, 1970, she married Jack Wesley Clifton, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and had previously worked as a housekeeper, a secretary for Mid Prairie Gas in Marshall, Minn., and along with her husband, ran a small grocery store in Marshall, Minn.

She was a member of the Apple Creek American Legion Post 147.

Surviving are her children, Lawrence Edwin (Karen) Pealer of Apple Creek, Connie S. (Jerry) Dollson of Marengo, Charles T. Pealer of Bradenton, Fla., and Michael D. Pealer of Mount Vernon; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert E. Pealer; and siblings, Leslie Edmister, Edwin Edmister, Dale Edmister Elizabeth Edmister, Evelyn Cunningham, Elsie Peterson, Catherine Hoskinson, Nettie Johnson and Clara M. Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, at the McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, OH 44691. A private family burial will take place at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.
