HOWARD — James B. Belcher, 90, of Howard, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at his residence.

He was born May 9, 1923, in West Virginia, and was the son of the late Isaac and Minnie Belcher. James was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his seven children, James L. (Stella) Belcher, Nancy (Jamie) Shirey, Martha (Robert) Jones, Mary Sue (Joe) Neistroy, Frank (Rose) Belcher, Sandra (Mike) Workman and Paul (Judy) Belcher, along with 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Don) Matthews.

James was preceded in death by six sisters; two brothers; and three great-grandchildren, Cindy Belcher, Ryan Shirey and Marissa Berry.

Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m., with Pastor Bill Fennell officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton, Ohio.
