HOWARD — John A. James, 75, of Howard, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon after a courageous battle with declining health. He was born Jan. 6, 1938, in Boston, Mass., son of the late Albert and Lillian (Scott-Frangedakis) James.
John faithfully served his country in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958. After serving in the Air Force, John went to work for Mettler-Toledo and retired in 1999 as the fleet administrator.
John is survived by his sons, Stephen (Candis) James of Westerville, J. Scott (Shelley) James of Avon, Douglas Thompson of New Hampshire and William Thompson of Dover, N.H.; daughters, Deborah (Doug) Cummings of Andover, Mass., Beth (Allen) Thompson-Young of Pasoroble, Calif., and Kim (Patrick) Rosmarin of Westerville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Susan F. “Sue” (Sayball) James on Jan. 18, 2013.
In following with John’s wish, there will not be any services. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
