MOUNT VERNON — Donald P. Knouff, 92, of Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at Country Club Retirement Campus.

He was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Sparta to the late Newell and Olive (Porter) Knouff. Don was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He retired in 1983 from Continental Can after 37 years. Don was a member of the Mount Zion Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, the Aladdin Shrine and the Baldwin Shrine. He was also a member of Clinton Commandery, the Kinsman Council and a life member of the Knox County Historical Society.

Don is survived by his daughter, Ann (Dennis) Tennant; his son, Thomas (Beverly) Knouff; seven grandchildren, Brent (Lori) Knouff, Thomas (Jeri) Tennant, Aimee (Mitch) Ratcliff, Meredith (Jim) Rafter, Joseph (Colleen) Tennant, Matthew (Sarah) Knouff, Elizabeth (Kevin) Burgin, 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Knouff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. Knouff; and two brothers, Gerald and Paul Knouff.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
