HOWARD — Frederick “Fred” Wilcox, 59, of Apple Valley and formerly of Hilliard, was called home Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born Nov. 15, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, he was a 1973 graduate of Hilliard High School; veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps Corporal served 1973-1977; and Teamster for 28 years and retired as a truck driver from ABF. Fred enjoyed family, boating, fishing and cooking. He was a member of Christian Life Church.

Preceded in death by parents; William J. and Mildred (Couch) Wilcox. Survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Wright) Wilcox; children, Mandy Wilcox of Hilliard, Dusty (Suellen) Wilcox of Howard; grandchildren, Chelsea Cordle, Zachary Cordle, Cameron Foreman, Caden Foreman, Freddie and Layla Wilcox; great-granddaughter, Karlie Parks; faithful companions, Spikey and Tanker; brothers, James Wilcox of Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Wilcox of Mansfield; sisters, Margaret (Emmitt) Robinson of Fayetteville, N.C., Agatha Wilcox of Zanesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Ohio 161 west), Plain City, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Bud Mulford officiating. Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard.
