FREDERICKTOWN — Carolyn L. Ewers, 69, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at her home in Fredericktown surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Mansfield, to the late Donald White and Lillian (Ayers) White. She graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1961, and then attended Mansfield Business College.

Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her home, antiques, gardening, cooking and needlework. After working and raising her children, at age 47 she returned to school at North Central Technical College to obtain her RN degree in nursing, following which she worked at Knox Community Hospital, retiring in 2010.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Ewers; their children, son, Rodney (Theresa) Ewers of Fredericktown; daughters, Dulcie (Rick) Ricketts of Pickerington and Kassie (Brian) Lester of Fredericktown; brother, Eugene “Chip” (Judy) Ayers of Savanna, Ga.; sister, Sandy (John) Karg of Grove City; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Murdock of Fredericktown and Patricia (Jim) Russell of Bellville; grandchildren, Sidney, Sophia, Brady Lester and Duvall Brannon; and not to forget her canine companion, Ali.

The family will have private services at a later date.
