MOUNT VERNON — Elton L. Weaver, 86, of Mount Vernon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 4, 2013.

He was born Sept. 15, 1927, in Newcomerstown, to the late Lester and Kathryn (Couts) Weaver. Elton served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and Rockwell International in Newark. Elton was a Mason with Ohio Lodge 199 in Bladensburg.

Elton’s pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlene (Frost) Weaver; a daughter, Susan (Keith) Jacks; his son, Steve (Lisa) Weaver; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bladensburg Church of Christ, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m., with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will follow in Bladensburg Cemetery, with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. The Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home in Bladensburg is handling the funeral services for the Weaver family.
