TAMPA, Fla. — A memorial service for David Lewis Lonsinger will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Utica United Methodist Church, 626 North St., with Pastor Ken Kelley officiating.

David died unexpectedly at his home in Tampa, Fla., on Oct. 21, 2013. He was born Jan. 16, 1955, to the late Charles L. and Mary Jane (Crow) Lonsinger, and grew up in Utica.

After graduating from Utica High School in 1973, he attended Miami University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1977.

David worked for multiple years as a retail manager for J.C. Penney and Lane Bryant. Later in his life, he became a financial consultant and planner with Ameriprise Financial Services in Tampa, Fla.

David very much enjoyed the ocean and spending time there with his circle of friends in Florida. He was a member of Greenpeace, The Nature Conservancy and other conservation efforts.

He is survived by his two brothers, Mark D. (Karen) Lonsinger of Charleston, W.Va., and Paul P. Lonsinger of Utica; three nephews, Michael D. (Jocelyn) Lonsinger, Matthew D. (Teresa) Lonsinger and M. Daniel Lonsinger, all of Charleston, W.Va.; and two great-nephews, Devin C. and William M. Lonsinger.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Greenpeace, 702 H St., NW, Suite 300, Washington, D.C. 20001; or The Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203-1600.

Visit to extend condolences to the family.
