BUTLER — Richard G. Payton, 78, of Butler, Ohio, met his Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, 2013, at his home surrounded by his caring family.
He was born in Shoshone, Idaho, on Oct. 31, 1934, son of the late Guy and Viola Payton. Richard was the owner and operator of the former Dick’s Landscaping in Eugene, Ore. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon and he served his country in the Marines. Richard enjoyed gardening, raising horses, and driving for the Amish.
Richard is survived by his son, Daniel Stewart, and his wife, Tracy of Eugene, Ore., and their children, Josh (Ashley) Vicenzi, Melissa (Chris) Loper, Jarred Stewart and Christy (Isaac) Davis; his daughter, Cynthia Redmond, and her husband, Morey, of Mount Vernon, and their children, Garrett, Alison and Janica Redmond; several great-grandchildren; brother, Everett (Shirley) Payton of Omaha, Neb.; and sister, Dorothy Manning of Boise, Idaho.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Annetta Mary Ellen (Brush) Payton, on Jan. 13, 2013.
In following with Richard’s wish, there will not be any services. A private graveside service will be held in Richfield, Idaho, at a later date.
