LEXINGTON — David Edward Moree passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, in Lexington Court Care Center following an extended illness. He was 77.
He was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Mount Vernon, to parents Edward and Florence (Andrews) Moree. David was graduated from Fredericktown High School with the class of 1954. He proudly served his country as a member of the armed forces from 1958 to 1964.
On Nov. 25, 1961 he married Nancy B. Miller. They built a house in Lexington and in 1966 moved from Fredericktown to start their family.
David worked at General Motors until he retired in 1997 after 40 years of service.
In spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and biking. Although he didn’t always say much, David was a well-liked guy who always put his family first.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Moree; two children, Michael Moree and Michele “Shelly” Moree both of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Oneetah Weldy, Rosemary Brown, Francine Wade, Jean Eyster and a young sister Barbara; and an infant son, Jeffery.
Calling hours will not be observed and burial will be held privately at a later date. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
