FREDERICKTOWN — Robert Eugene “Gene” Frazier, 83, of Colony Drive, Fredericktown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at MedCentral Health System in Mansfield. Gene was born July 12, 1930, in Knox County, to the late Robert and Alice (Champion) Frazier. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Gene worked for the J.B. Foote Foundry in Fredericktown and retired as a truck driver for NaChurs. He was a member of the Harmony Methodist Church in Morrow County and the American Legion in Fredericktown.
He is survived by his son, Philip Frazier of Fredericktown; a daughter, Diana (Mark) Morris of Cardington; a granddaughter, Nicole Morris; a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Morris; three brothers, Tom (Sandra) Frazier of Mount Vernon, Larry Frazier of Fredericktown and Steve (Katie) Frazier of Fredericktown; and a brother-in-law, James (Lois) Thorne of Marion.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette (Tobin) Frazier; second wife, Norma Jean (Howard) Frazier; a sister, Marge Thorne; and sister-in-law, Patricia Frazier.
A graveside service, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. The Rev. Jeannie Winters will be officiating.
