MOUNT VERNON — Lovita Pauline Mrklas, 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. Lovita was born in Los Angeles, Calif., daughter of the late William and Therese Strohbach.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Barney Mrklas; and son, Ronald Anthony Mitchel. Lovita will be greatly missed by her grandson, Thomas Anthony Mitchel; brother, Kurt Timmins; and many loving and close friends.
Lovita lived life to the fullest. As a young woman living in California, she was an actress and dance instructor. She worked as a bookkeeper and counselor for many years. She was revered for her sharp mind and wit. Her unconditional love and compassion touched many lives, and each life she touched was always better for it. Our world is less because of her passing.
