MOUNT VERNON — Norma J. Van Horn, 83, of Mount Vernon and formerly of Fredericktown, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Country Club Retirement Campus.
She was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Caledonia, daughter of the late Leroy and Edith (Karcher) Redman. Norma was a very avid bowler for many years and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Norma is survived by her son, Dick (Joyce Wilder) Van Horn of Howard; daughters, Mary Jane Bevington and Bonnie Sue (Tom) Lahmon of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Stutz, Joe Lahmon, Jeanna Lahmon and Heidi (Curtis) Wagner; great-grandson, Schyler Epler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James Van Horn; a son, Robert Van Horn; sisters, Laurette Thompson, Evelyn Craft, Freda Gray, Eunice Howell and Mary Chiles; and a son-in-law, Gerald Bevington.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown. A graveside service will be held in Forest Cemetery on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Whitt Akers officiating.
