MOUNT VERNON — Harold Thomas Alicie, 63, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his residence. He was born Feb. 6, 1950, in Mount Vernon, to the late Joe and Ella (Lewis) Alicie. Harold worked at Chattanooga Glass and was recently retired from Rolls-Royce. He was also the co-owner of Young’s Drive-in in Mount Vernon.
He enjoyed hunting, gold panning and playing Euchre with friends. Harold loved being around his grandchildren and would do anything to help people out.
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Henry) Wilson; a son, James “Stephen” Alicie; six grandchildren, Laura (Bryan) St. Clair, Victoria Shisler, Shawn Thomas Alicie, Mercedes Wilson, Brad Wilson and Rachel Wilson; great-granddaughter, Charlotte St. Clair; two brothers, Bobbie Alicie and Donald (Cheryl) Alicie; a sister, Aleta “Sis” Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Harold is preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Alicie, Lawrence Alicie and baby brother; and two sisters, Juanita Alicie and Cynthia Alicie.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Homes; 201 Newark Rd. with a funeral service starting at 6 p.m., with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
