CENTERBURG — Jane E. Stooksbury went to be with her Lord and Savior after a 28-year battle with cancer at her home that she has lived in for the last 70 years on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013.
She was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Sparta, to the late Melvin and Neva (Hulse) Annett. She was a graduate of Sparta High School Class of 1956. She was a retired purchasing agent for Mercy Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Willow Grove Advent Christian Church in Mount Liberty. She was past president of WH&FM and member of the choir at the church.
Jane loved her family and treasured her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, singing and doing jigsaw puzzles. Jane loved going to her church and singing in the choir, and rides in the country to see what was going on.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ralph Stooksbury, and they were married Jan. 19, 1957, in Mount Gilead; children, Jo Ann (Joseph) Cipriano of Utica, Jackie (Ed) Russell of Columbus, Robert (Lisa) Stooksbury of Centerburg, and William (Danielle) Stooksbury of Centerburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Butch (Sharon) Annett of Mount Vernon; and sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Annett of Mount Vernon.
Preceded in death by brothers, Dale, David; and sister, Joyce Skaggs.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., with Pastors Chad Davis and Carl Hankins officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.
