MOUNT VERNON — Betty Rinehart, 80, of Kirk Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1933, in Kingsport, Tenn., to the late Joseph and Ada (Johnson) Clipse.
She is survived by two sons, Carroll (Yvonne) Rinehart of Mount Vernon and Mike (Laura) Rinehart of Ashville, N.C.; a daughter, Vickey (Ray) Sparrow of Bladensburg; six grandchildren, Brandi McDonough, Leslie (Coty) Grizzle, Bryan (Kyla) Rinehart, Sean (Darcy) Rinehart, Aaron Branstool and Regan Branstool; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stella Adkins of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Rinehart; two brothers, Chester Clipse and Kenneth Clipse; and a sister, Margaret Harden.
A graveside service was held today at 11 a.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Rev. Russ Gumm will be officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Betty Rinehart.
