MOUNT VERNON — Beverly A. Williams, 81, of Mansfield Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
She was born March 6, 1932, in Mount Vernon, to the late George Tier and Louise (Metcalf) Beckholt. Beverly retired in 1992 after 30-plus years with National City Bank. She was a 40-year member of the Moose and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She enjoyed reading and getting together with her friends for their gambling trips. Beverly was an avid fan of the Browns, Buckeyes and NASCAR.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Deborah) Williams of Bellville; a granddaughter, Alicia Williams of Bellville; two aunts, Millie Collins of Mount Vernon and Pauline Macos of Junction City, Ore.; and many cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Williams; a granddaughter, Valorie Williams; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a Moose service will follow at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly’s name may be made to Acclaim Hospice or the American Lung Association.
