HOWARD — Rosemary Reed, 82, of Howard, passed away Thursday, Sept.12, 2013, at the Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born March 16, 1931, in Mount Vernon, to the late Cecil and Eula (Burchett) Hayes.
Rosemary was a dedicated homemaker and loving wife. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Danville in the past, where she was very active and involved. Rosemary also attended the God’s Eternal Love and Fellowship church in Newcastle. She loved her flower gardens, gospel music, the Ohio State Buckeyes, but most of all she loved and enjoyed her family. She did not know a stranger, and loved to talk and help anyone out that needed it.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 57 years, James F. Reed; son, James K. (Jean) Reed of Howard; two grandchildren, Mike (Heidi) Conkle of Mount Vernon and Wendy (Dave) Swigert of Coshocton; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill (Linda) Hayes of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Jo (Richard) Converse of Ft. Mill, S.C. and Pamela McKinney of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will observe calling hours on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a service the next day, officiated by Pastor Sharon Kirch at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, burial to follow in Amity Cemetery, Amity.
