LAKELAND, Fla. — Charles Don Tindall, 75, of Munn Avenue Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Sept. 11, 2013, at his home in Florida.
He was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Noah and Martina (O’Brien) Tindall. Don graduated from Fredericktown High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from General Motors in Mansfield; and enjoyed gardening, NASCAR and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Francine Tindall; three sons, Mark (Dawn) Tindall of Plain City, Michael Tindall of Mansfield, Martin (Jan) Tindall of Loudonville; a daughter, Lee Ann Wilson of Mansfield; stepsons, David Utter and Craig Utter; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Helen) Tindall of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Lee Ann Crider of Mount Vernon and Marjorie Curry of Mount Vernon; and good friend, Ron Daniels.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Reese; and a grandchild.
Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial with military honors, provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
