MOUNT VERNON — Mamie L. Loney, 76, of North Jefferson Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Knox Community Hospital.
Mamie was born Dec. 30, 1936, in Centerburg, to the late George and Irene (Wildman) Wheeler Sr. Mamie worked as a nurse’s aide for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Loney; two sons, Christopher Loney and David Loney, both of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myrtle (Donald) Kanniard of Ashley.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Loney Jr.; two daughters, Susan Sheets and Lisa Wantland; four brothers, Alfred Wheeler, Leonard Wheeler, George Wheeler Jr. and Harold Wheeler; and two sisters, Rosalie Marvin and Doris Loney.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Mound View Cemetery. Brother L.J. Harry will be officiating. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Mamie L. Loney.
