FREDERICKTOWN — Amelia E. Cochran, 93, of Fredericktown, passed peacefully and entered her eternal home Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
Amelia was born Oct. 14, 1919, in Marengo to Charles and Haddie (Burkett) Woodland. She had attended Mount Vernon and Amity schools; graduated from Centerburg High School, and was a graduate of the Mount Vernon Business College. Amelia was an active member of the Batemantown United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. Amelia’s life was centered around her family and her home.
Surviving are her children, Ellen Litt of Plain City, Ronald (Viki) Cochran of Fredericktown and Ann (Mark) Vance of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Cochran in 1996; brothers, James Woodland and Don Woodland; and sisters, Norene Woodland and Eva Alexander.
Friends may call Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Batemantown United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Dave Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at North Fork Cemetery near Waterford.
