NEWARK — A funeral service for Ronald G. “Ron” Leas, 68, of Newark, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1137 Sharon Valley Road, Newark, with Pastor Jim Gau officiating. Burial will follow in Lock Cemetery.

Ron passed away Sept. 30, 2010, as a result of a farm accident in Licking County. He was born Feb. 15, 1942, to the late Forest and Nellie (Spencer) Leas. He married Lois Gower, high school sweetheart and loving partner on Nov. 24, 1962.

He graduated from Greenville High School in 1960, worked and farmed in Darke County until 1976, when he and his family moved to Licking County where he continued to farm. He and Lois retired to Newark three years ago.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lois; daughter, Tonia Boudinot of Centerburg; son, Todd (Bev) Leas of Newark; daughter, Tiffany (Greg) Korns of Newark; grandchildren, whom he adored and spent much time with are Mathew and Adrian Boudinot, Forest, Alex and Hailey Leas, and Elizabeth Korns; sisters, Jan Watson of Mount Vernon and Judy (Russ) Bennett of New Madison; several brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, friends, and special friends, Harold and Holly Riffle of Pensacola, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Trent Boudinot, who died in a farming accident three years ago.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark.
