Wilma L. Bandy
WESTERVILLE — Wilma Lois Bandy passed away Aug. 26, 2007,
at 9:30 p.m. in the care of HomeReach Hospice at Riverside Hospital.
Wilma was born Jan. 1, 1939, to Oden and Dorothy Ball in Sparta. She was married to Otis L. Bandy II for 38 years until his passing in 1994, and spent most of her life residing in the Centerburg area. Wilma spent her final years living with and being cared for by her daughter Paula and Paula’s husband, Michael Updike in Westerville. She lovingly worked as a nurse’s aide over the years, retiring from the State of Ohio Developmental Center in Mount Vernon.
Kind hearted and dedicated to her family, she will be remembered by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for her motherly ways and her ability to make each one feel special and loved.
Always creative, Wilma enjoyed artistic hobbies and spent time drawing and oil painting. Known for her special touch, always putting the needs of others before her, she treasured time with her family as her greatest asset and will be deeply missed.
Wilma is survived by her parents, Oden and Dorothy M. (Lester) Ball of Centerburg; children, Lois (Danny) Watts, Otis (Roxanne) Bandy, Anita (Don) Stover, all of Centerburg, Paula (Michael) Updike of Westerville, Jerry (Lisa) Bandy of Gahanna, Chrissy (Tyrone) King of Mount Vernon. Also grandchildren, Teresa, Scott, Steve, Stephanie and Danton; Ryan and Griffin; Josh and Colleen; Jessicca, Heather and Jeremy; Ashley and Arinn; Amanda, Taryn and Taelyn; great-grandchildren, Mason; Cali; Nick and Matt; Chris and Ayden; Cyrus; Maddox and Easton. Sisters and brothers, Deana (Jim) Mitchell, Ken (Mickey) Ball, all of Upper Arlington, Ron Ball of Centerburg, Jeri (Ron) Staats of Mount Vernon.
She was preceded in death by son, Brian in 1963; her husband, Otis in 1994; and her sister-in-law, Michel Ball in 2007.
Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 30, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury. Memorial service to be held at noon with Wilma’s brother, Kendal Ball, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
Family and friends are also welcome to join her children in celebration of her life per her wishes, at 3:30 p.m. at 4819 Perry Road, Centerburg.

Ethel Kirch
MOUNT VERNON — Ethel Kirch, 92, of Mount Vernon died Monday,
Aug. 27, 2007, at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
Ethel was born April 4, 1915, in Carrollton to Homer R. and Bessie M. (Beatty) Gould. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School. She was a 50-year member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon and taught Sunday school there for many years. All of her life, she brought love and a sense of understanding to her family and those around there.
Surviving are her daughters, JoAnn (Walter) Husted of Mount Vernon and Katherine Kirch of Aurora; three granddaughters, Lori (John) Bechtel of Utica, Jenny (Tom) Moxley of Mount Vernon and Pam Dalton of New Albany; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Moxley and Kyle Moxley.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin L. Kirch, in 1980; her parents; and a sister, Eula Gould.
There will no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 200 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Keith Stuart, Ph.D., officiating. A reception will follow in the church parlor. A private burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Anne Marie Wise
DANVILLE — Anne Marie “Maria” (Adams) Wise,
34, of Danville died suddenly on Aug. 24, 2007.
She is survived by her husband, Jon Wise; children, Nicholas Wiley, Kenley Wise and Jaydin Wise; parents, Jo Ellen and Ron Adams of Dundalk, Md.; sister, Vicki Baird of Dundalk, Md.; and a brother, Mike Adams of Parkville, Md.
She will be flown to Connelly Funeral Home in Dundalk, Md., where there will be a family-only viewing.
