Vincent A. Durbin
UPLAND, Calif. — Vincent A. “Vince” Durbin
of Upland, Calif., and Fredericktown joined his paternal grandparents, Kenneth
and Sue Durbin, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Evelyn McClellan, on June
1, 2007, after a brief illness.
Vince left behind his father, Robert D. Durbin of Candlewood Lake; mother, Patricia A. (Neil) Niggemeyer of Fredericktown; sisters, Vickie (Michael) Carroll of Glenford, Valerie (Richard) Haythorn of West Virginia; Vonda (Thomas Jr.) Metcalf of Gambier; brother, Vernon (Grace) Durbin of Fredericktown; nieces, Michelle Blubaugh, Tara Durbin, Toni and Cassie Metcalf; nephews, Mike (Denise) Rowe, Jeremy (Tati) Blubaugh, Lucas Blubaugh and Aaron Haythorn; great-nephews, Brett Copeland, Zachary Rowe and Kent Blubaugh; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; special aunt, Sharon Rutan; close friends, Karen Singery, David Hatton and Bill Porter; and very dear friend, Debra Shearer of California.
Vince graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1972 and looked forward to attending his 35-year class reunion in July. He was a 29-year member of the Mount Vernon Moose Club and served as a dedicated employee of Cal Poly Technical Institute. His family, friends, classmates and co-workers will sadly miss his engaging personality and fun loving spirit.
Those wishing to honor Vince’s memory and celebrate his life may attend a memorial service with Pastor Mary Miller officiating on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, with visiting hours from 5 until 7 p.m. and the memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
Edith E. Dustin
UTICA — A graveside service for Edith E. Dustin, 82,
of Utica will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg,
with Bruce Hissong officiating.
Edith died Aug. 18, 2007, at her residence. She was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Licking County to Walter V. and Dolly P. (Weekley) Coss.
She is survived by her son, Stephen R. Dustin, and brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Wilma Coss Jr., all of Utica.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orlin Ray Dustin, who died in 1987; son, Rodney L. “Butch” Dustin, who died in 1998; brothers, William Earl Coss and Paul Edward Coss; and sister, Margaret Coss.
The Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert Hetterscheidt
SUNBURY — Robert M. Hetterscheidt, 77, of Sunbury
died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born July 24, 1930, in Columbus to Harry L. and Amelia (Figlestahler) Hetterscheidt. He was a Korean conflict U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Bernadine “Bunny” (Garretson) Hetterscheidt; sons, Bob, Bryan and Bradley; daughters, Brenda Froehlich, Becky Blase and Barb Grabow; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers; a sister; and a sister-in-law.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with prayer service at 8 p.m., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9633 Ohio 37 East, Sunbury, with the Rev. David Sizemore as celebrant. Burial will take place at a later date and military honors will be provided at the church by the Delaware County Veterans Assocication.
