Mary C. Brown
BATON ROUGE, La. — Mary Christine (Ball) Brown, 43, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.

She was born April 4, 1964, in Millersburg to Asbury “Ike” and Mary (Bennett) Ball. On July 25, 1983, she was married to Kenneth Brown.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, June 5, at 1 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, where calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The full obituary will be available on Monday. Information is available at www.fischerfuneralhome.com.

William D. Green
NEWARK — A funeral service for William D. Green, 86, of Newark will be Tuesday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William J. Rauch officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Green, a veteran of the U.S. Army, died June 1, 2007, at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born March 27, 1921, in Rockport, Ind., to Harvey and Anna (Bennett) Green. Mr. Green retired from the Newark Air Force Base. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a lifetime member of the American Legion Troy Webster Post 240, Lucky, Ohio.

He is survived by a son, Michael (Kristie) Green of Newark; daughter, Rebecca (John) Wright of Granville; five grandchildren, Ryan and Colin Green of Newark, and Jennifer, Jessica and Jason Wright of Granville; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Brody Lee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie S. Green, who died Aug. 20, 2005.

Friends may call Monday, June 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 N. Fifth St., Newark.

Rita A. Jones
MOUNT VERNON — Rita A. Jones, 83, of Mount Vernon died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Morning View Care Center in Centerburg.

Rita was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Akron to Clyde and Daisy (Hirn) Jones. She retired in 1977 from the Marathon Oil Co. in Findlay, where she had been employed as an accountant.

There will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Madelyne G. Underwood
WESTERVILLE — Madelyne G. (Nunn) Underwood, 87, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at Traditions at Stygler.

Madelyne was retired from Rockwell International (Curtis Wright) and missionary endeavors with Grace Brethren Missions in Europe, South America, and Navajo Missions in New Mexico. She was an active member of the Ankenytown Grace Brethren Church and the Blendon and Westerville Senior Centers where she leaves many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DeLories “De” L. Underwood; parents, John Peter and Anna Marie (Specker) Nunn; and brother, John Allen Nunn.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, nieces and a nephew, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and many friends.

Friends may call Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Ankenytown Grace Brethren Church, 20601 Old Mansfield Road, Bellville, where a memorial service will be held immediately after calling hours at 3 p.m.
