Cheryl R. Carr
MOUNT VERNON — Cheryl Rene Carr of West Chestnut Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007, at her residence. These arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.

William ‘Bill’ Ollar
UPPER ARLINGTON — William S. “Bill” Ollar, 84, of Upper Arlington passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He retired as customer engineer manager with IBM following over 35 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Pacific Theater in the Battles of Peleliu, Okinawa, Palau and Ryukyu Islands. He was with the 8th 155th Gun Battalion as a radio operator. Bill was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed traveling with his family. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther M. (Ricketts) Ollar; daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Rodden, of Mount Vernon and Patti (Mark) Richards of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Leah, Hannah, Micah and Jeremiah Rodden, Brent and Connor Richards.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Esther; and brothers, John, Joseph, Mickey, Frank and Edward.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Interment will be in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery, Millersport. Heather L. Rausch
MARENGO — Heather Leigh Rausch, 34, of Marengo died unexpectedly Friday, April 20, 2007.

She was born in Delaware on May 20, 1972, the daughter of William “Bill” and Sharon Brock Rausch of Marengo. A graduate of Highland High School in the class of 1989, Heather was a member of the award-winning Highland Scot Marching Band. Later, she graduated from the Northern Kentucky University with bachelor’s degrees in communications and in business administration.

With strong faith and love in the Lord, Heather was a longtime attendant and member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Marengo. Excelling at anything she dedicated herself to, Heather loved to be with children and had worked in preschool child care.

Most important of all to Heather was her family, who will dearly miss her, and in addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, April Rausch of Worthington and Chrystal (Curt) Smith of Chesterville; her brother, Capt. William “Billy” Rausch; and by numerous close aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will greet friends Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery in Mount Gilead.
