HOWARD — Katherine Eley, 78, of Howard died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Johnstown.

MARYSVILLE — Charles Harold Hennis, 93, of 14694 Gandy Eddy Road, Marysville, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 14, 1913, in Westerville to Harold and Clara (Alexander) Hennis. He married the former Marie Purdy on July 3, 1957. She preceded him in death on May 26, 1999. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a supervisor at the Continental Can Co. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Moose Lodge, and was known for and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by two grandsons, Mike Hall of Indianapolis, Ind., and Mark (Donna) Hall of Marysville; two granddaughters, Tammy and Cindy Hall of Loudonville; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Hackensmith of Valparaiso, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marie Hennis.

MOUNT VERNON — Granville Short, 66, of Vernonview Drive, Mount Vernon, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born Feb. 21, 1941, in Wayne County, Ky., to the late Warren and Ann (Roop) Short.
He is survived by a sister, Mary (Robert) Sauer of Marietta, Ga.; and three nephews, Robert Sauer, Mark Sauer and Eric Sauer.
The family will observe a private burial. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
