Charlene Eyster
MOUNT VERNON — Charlene M. Eyster, 80, of Mount Vernon died Monday, March 5, 2007, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Charlene was born April 16, 1926, in Mount Vernon to Bernard and Gertrude (Taylor) Welker, was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She retired in 1998 from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center where she had been employed as a clerk specialist in the maintenance department. Charlene was a member of the World Harvest Church in Columbus, and had been a member of Women’s Aglow and numerous Bible study groups.

Surviving are her children, a daughter, Deanna Rardin of Ashley; her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Pam (Richie) Eyster of Williamstown, W.Va.; and a daughter, Ellen Staats of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Eyster; two sons, Michael Eyster and Christopher Eyster; and her brother, Gene Welker.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Linda K. Gilligan
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — Linda K. Gilligan, 57, of Collierville, Tenn., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Collierville.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Linda worked as a cashier at Kroger in Collierville for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Dave Gilligan of Collierville; two sons, Chris George and Todd George, both of Ohio; two sisters, Jenny Horn and her husband, William, and Sharon Dingess, all of Caldwell, Ohio; her brother, Mike Styers of Mount Vernon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Samantha, Emily and Christopher George; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor be made to the Family Cancer Center, 1936 West Poplar, Collierville, TN 38017. The Collierville Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

C. Keith Gordon
MOUNT VERNON — C. Keith Gordon, 58, of Mount Vernon died Monday, March 5, 2007, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

Keith was born Oct. 28, 1948, in Columbus to Clarence K. and Betty (Wiggins) Gordon, graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1966 and had served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the AMVETS, and the Eagles Lodge in Mount Vernon.

Surviving are his mother, Betty (Wiggins) Gordon of Mount Vernon; two sons, Eugene Keith Gordon and Matthew David Gordon, both of Sunnyvale, Calif.; his godson, Jon-Anthony Karll of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Rebecca Thompson of Centerburg, and Frieda (Bob) Norris and Carla Adkins, both of Mount Vernon; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

His father and a brother, Kevin Gordon, preceded him in death.

Friends may call Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
