Frank E. Jackson
MOUNT VERNON — Frank Earl Jackson, 84, of Mount Vernon went to be with his heavenly Father and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Frank was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Honaker, Va., to William and Dora Jackson and had been a resident of the Mount Vernon area since 1947. He proudly served in the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater of War with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Frank was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries in Mount Vernon where he had been employed for 29 years.

He was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon where he had served the church as a deacon and trustee.

Surviving Frank are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Clara (Boyd) Jackson; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Elizabeth Jackson of Fairlawn, and Kim and Janette Jackson of Gahanna; his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Doug Spearman of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Heather Potts, Christa Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Elizabeth Lovelady, Ryan Jackson, Curt Spearman and Amy Spearman; five stepgrandchildren, Amy Driscoll, Amanda Exner, Matthew Brock, Kate Panzner and Samantha Brock; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Potts, Adam Potts and Sarah Potts; six stepgreat-grandchildren; his three sisters, Hazel Wilson of Abbington, Va., Hattie Harris of Springfield and Margaret Harris of Mount Liberty; his sister-in-law, Ruth Jackson of Pikeville, Ky.; and his brother-in-law, Harold Crabtree of Bristol, Va.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Daryl Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Donna (Crippen) Jackson; his brother, Burke Jackson; and two sisters, Ollie Ward and Lois Crabtree.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Robert Hendrix officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at St. Johns Cemetery near Mount Vernon.

Wanda Nugent
MOUNT VERNON — Wanda Nugent, 84, of Mount Vernon passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 22, 2007, at the St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Homes of Mount Vernon.
