Gary A. Baker
WALHONDING — Gary A. Baker, 65, of 33801 Ohio 715, Walhonding, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2007.

Funeral service will be Saturday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorraine E. McDougall
MOUNT VERNON — Lorraine Elizabeth McDougall, 109 Vernonview Court, Mount Vernon, died on Feb. 14, 2007, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home. She was 81.

She was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., to Arthur John Klank and Irene Leona (Essler) Klank. She was a 1944 graduate of Von Stuben High School and as a child she was a member of the Albany Park Lutheran Church. While still in Chicago, she worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.

On June 19, 1948, she married Clayton L. McDougall at the Albany Park Lutheran Church. Later that year, she moved to Mount Vernon. She and Clayton moved to Odessa and Dallas, Texas, before retiring to Mount Vernon in 1988.

She served the community in many ways during her lifetime. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Junior Service League, Town & Country Garden Club, Mount Vernon Country Club, Old Homestead Club and the Beethoven Club. Lorraine was a current and longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon.

Her husband, Clayton, survives her at the residence. Also surviving are a daughter, Leslie McManamon and her husband, Tom, of Columbus, Ohio; a son, Kevin Lynn McDougall and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville, S.C. She is survived by two grandchildren, Nathaniel McDougall of Greenville, S.C., and Lauren McManamon of Columbus, Ohio.

A memorial service honoring Lorraine is being planned for this spring. The North-Dilley Funeral Home of Mount Vernon assisted the family with the arrangements.

Joyce V. Miskimen
COSHOCTON — Joyce Viola Miskimen, 80, of Ohio 83, Coshocton, died Feb. 14, 2007, at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Dan Loomis officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery. Visiting will be Sunday, Feb. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Loretta J. Young
MOUNT VERNON — Loretta Jean Young, 65, of North Norton Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, surrounded by her family at her residence.

She was born Dec. 18, 1941, in Hurricane, W.Va., to Sylvester Gainer and Mammie Mae (Arbaugh) Sovine. Loretta previously worked for Martin Memorial Hospital and Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, and for the last 19 years she held the position of executive director of housekeeping for Country Club Retirement Campus. She was a member of the Green Valley Southern Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving family, a son, Dwight Newton, and two daughters, Parthenia (Max) Brokaw and Mary (Steve) Eidt, all of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward (Wanda) Sovine of Ravenna, Ohio; two sisters, Mary “Ollie” Ward of Cloden, W.Va., and Jessie (Lawrence) Gillispie of Hurricane, W.Va.; and special nieces, Sue “Susie” Waddell and Retha DeHaven.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Alzada Sovine, Florence Van Noy, Virginia Fletcher and Vola Wright; and two brothers, Delmar Sovine and Donald Sovine.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Green Valley Southern Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Dan Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
