Monna McMillan
MOUNT VERNON — Monna McMillan, 95, of Mount Vernon passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Morning View Care Center in Centerburg.

She was born Oct. 31, 1911, in Knox County to the late Squire and Jenny (Frazer) Porter. Monna was a member of the Knox Chapter of the Eastern Star. She loved spending time in her garden taking care of her flowers and enjoyed a good game of euchre with family and friends. Nothing was more important to Monna than spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Neva Moreland of Centerburg and Mary Coffing of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Debra (Robert) Sears, Beth (Glenn) Shearrow, Susan Johnson, Eric Moreland, Teresa Miller, Jeff Spearman and Doreen (Trent) Baldwin; seven stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard McMillan; a son, Rodney McMillan; a sister, Elsie Larimore; a brother, Bernard Porter; and sons-in-law, Richard Moreland, Arthur Coffing and Jim Spearman.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Workman Cemetery at Danville. Mr. Lee Ulrey will officiate. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude E. Wolf
MOUNT VERNON — Gertrude E. Wolf, 101, of Columbus Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.

She was born Oct. 21, 1905, in Knox County to the late Fred and Nora (Vance) Dripps. Gertrude was a 1923 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and Ohio State University basketball fan.

She is survived by her loving family, a daughter, Jeannette Columber of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Cindy (Bill) Stillwagon of Mount Vernon and Bill (Sarah) Columber of Mount Vernon; and two great-grandchildren, Chelsey Denhart and Isaiah Columber.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester “Pete” Wolf; and a sister, Ruth Cochran.

The family will observe a private graveside service in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
