away Monday morning, Jan. 22, 2007, at the Ohio State University Medical Center
in Columbus. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder

Carrie J. Bodnar
FREDERICKTOWN — Carrie J. Bodnar, 84, of Fredericktown
died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.
Carrie was born March 13, 1922, near Danville to Wesley and Lovie (Allen) Stringfellow. Carrie attended Danville High School and moved to Fredericktown in 1958. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown.
Surviving are her children, Deborah (Jeff) Cunningham of Howard, Rick Bodnar of Mount Vernon and Sue (David) DeBoard of Mount Vernon; her son-in-law, C. Thomas Ryan of Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Bodnar; her daughter, Judy Ryan; her brother, Arthur Stringfellow; and two grandsons.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, with Rev. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday two hours before the funeral.

UTICA — Charles E. Comstock, 80, of Vance Road, Utica,
passed away Monday morning, Jan. 22, 2007, at his home. Arrangements are under

Amanda Hostetler
GAMBIER — Amanda Hostetler, 80, of Gambier went to be
with the Lord on Sunday evening, Jan. 21, 2007, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital,
Sarsota, Fla., following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Chesterville, Ill., to Andy R. and Sarah (Graber) Miller. She was married to Eli E. Hostetler on Nov. 29, 1945. He died Sept. 12, 2005. She was a member of the New Order Church of Walhonding.
She leaves to mourn her 12 children, Sylvia (Pete) Wagler of Cochranton, Pa., David (Naomi) Hostetler of Bourbon, Ind., Andy (Nancy) Hostetler of Nappanee, Ind., Eli (Katie) Hostetler of Strawberry, Ark., Dan (Carol) Hostetler of Utica, Mark (Cathy) Hostetler of Bremen, Ind., Bertha (Richard) Miller of Gambier, Ruth Hostetler of home, Karen Garber of Strawberry, Ark., Nathan (Miriam) Hostetler of Gambier, Laura of Cumberland, Md., and Jonathan Hostetler of Mount Perry; 39 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters, Irene Schlabach, Martha Miller, Edna Byler, Mary Byler, Kathryn Gingerich and Sara Ann Byler; five brothers John, Allan, Mahlon, Joe and Enos; and stepmother, Mabel Miller.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Menno and Levi; a sister, Bertha Byler; a son-in-law, Vernon Garber.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Melita Church on Camp Ohio Road, where funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., with Bishop Owen Miller and Pete Kuhns officiating. Burial will be in Martinsburg Amish Cemetery. The North-Dilley Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Gary W. Lockhart
CORRYTON, Tenn. — Gary W. Lockhart, (auctioneer), 62,
formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away Dec. 22, 2006, at St. Mary’s
Residential Hospice Facility.
Born Aug. 17, 1944, in West Virginia, he was the son of Grover W. and Orbie (Watson) Lockhart. Gary and his parents moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio, in 1945. He was a truck driver for G&R Trucking for the past 16 years. He also worked for PPG in Mount Vernon, until closing, and then in Burkburnett, Texas. Gary attended high school in Mount Vernon and was in the class of ’62.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grover, in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; loving mother, Orbie Mae Lockhart; children, Tina (Todd) Griffen of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., Annie and Gary Lockhart II of Corryton, Tenn., Tanya (Chris) Sockman of Centerburg, Ohio, and Torry Wagner of Fredericktown, Ohio; grandchildren, Tayla, Torri and Tommy Griffen of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., and Brett Sockman of Centerburg, Ohio; brother, Ross (Bonnie) Lockhart of Kodak, Tenn.; sisters, Linda (John) Beever and Carol (Ken) Conant of Mount Vernon, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Debbie Overbay; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lee and Lois Isaacs of Richmond, Ky.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank-you to all of the special people who were there for Gary and his family, Tina Griffen, Deb Overbay, Trish Maynard, Lisa Debusk, Rick Justice, and the staff of the eighth floor at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center and pallbearers.
Funeral services were Dec. 26, 2006, with the Rev. Mike Lee officiating and interment services were Dec. 27, 2006, in Greenwood Cemetery.
