Robert F. Wagner
SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. — Robert Francis Wagner, 66, of Surfside Beach, S.C.,
formerly of Gambier and Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct.
24, 2006, at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Born in Chillicothe on June 30, 1940, he was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Brightwell; and father, Francis Wagner. A graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, Bob worked for more than 30 years with the Department of Youth Services for the State of Ohio. He and his wife, Joanie, retired in 2000 and moved to Surfside Beach, S.C. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling the world with his wife. They had just returned from a monthlong trip to Egypt, Tuscany and Spain.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joanie (Wiggins) of Surfside Beach; stepmother, Marilyn Wagner; stepsisters, Esther (Dan) Baker and Carol Cornish; brother, Bruce (Gayle) Wagner; four daughters, Susan Strack of Mount Vernon, Karen Boyd of Hollywood, Fla., Elizabeth Kunzelman of Hilliard and Molly (Jesse) Jeffries of Chillicothe; son, Edward (Tara) Kunzelman of Dublin, OH; 13 grandchildren, Taylor and Reid Strack, Carlie Bross, Jessica and Cassidy Boyd, Paige and Lauren Latimer, Ann and Anthony Polakowski, Samuel and Allison Jeffries, and Nolan and Joel Kunzelman; and his pets, Gambie and Sydney.
Milner Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, Ky., was in charge of cremation. A memorial celebration will be Sunday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. at LaScala Restaurant, 4199 W. Dublin Granville Road, Dublin, Ohio. A celebration will also be held in Surfside Beach, S.C.
