MOUNT VERNON — Callie Mae Alley, 81, of Mount Vernon died this morning,
Oct. 16, 2006, at Summerville at HillenVale. The North-Dilley Funeral Home is

Norma Jean Bennett
MOUNT VERNON — Norma Jean Bennett, 81, of Melick Street, Mount Vernon, passed
away on Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1924, in Howard to the late Robert and Dollie (Stull) Henwood. Mrs. Bennett retired after 20 years of employment as a clerk with Ringwalt’s Department Store in Mount Vernon. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Moose, both of Mount Vernon. Mrs. Bennett was also a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She is survived by her loving family, a daughter, Karen (David) Butler of Mount Vernon; two grandchildren, Lisa (Tracy) Hunter and Craig (Sharon) Ores; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Auck, Rachel Hunter, Amberly Walters and Kalie Walters.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Bennett, in 2004; and an infant son, Robert Craig Bennett.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Jamie Gump will be officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville.

Dorothy L. Heskett
MARENGO — Dorothy L. Heskett, 89, of Marengo passed away Friday afternoon,
Oct. 13, 2006, at Morrow Manor in Chesterville.
Born on April 19, 1917, near Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Bowers) Babbert. She moved to the Marengo area in 1975 from Gahanna. Dorothy had worked for Joyce Shoe Co. and as a nurse’s aide for the Morning View Care Center in Fulton. She enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the Marengo Senior Citizens. Described as loving and independent, she was very proud of her family.
She is survived by daughter, Priscilla (Thomas) Vance of Marengo; son, Richard (Roberta) Heskett of Gahanna; grandchildren, Rich, Cindy and Mary; and great-grandchildren, Kim, Amber and Stephanie.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Frank Heskett; eight brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in Union Cemetery in Columbus. Arrangements under the direction of DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Cliff Looney
DANVILLE — C. Clifton Looney, 64, of Workman Road, Danville, died Saturday,
Oct. 14, 2006, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1942, in Deel, Va., to the late Tom and Marjorie Ann (Adkins). He attended the North Bend Church of the Brethren, and he coached youth sports for many years in the Danville School system. He was the owner and operator of Cliff Looney Timber. He loved deer hunting, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie (Wright) Looney; his children, Scott (Jennifer) Looney of Brentwood, Tenn., and Heidi (Mark) Hulse of Fredericktown; sisters, Phoebe Schoonover of Virginia, Wanda (Gordon) Cole of Mount Vernon, May (Don) Mowery of Danville and Mary (Ralph) Colopy of Georgia; brothers, Carter (June) Looney of Fredericktown, Chet (Mary Jo) Looney of Danville, Ron (Kelley) Looney of Gambier and Carl (Kayleen) Looney of Butler; grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Jacob, and Connor Looney, and Hunter and Haylee Hulse.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Curt Looney.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at the North Bend Church near Danville. Pastor Patrick Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville.

CHESTERVILLE — Richard H. “Dick” Taylor, 70, of Chesterville
died unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 14, 2006, at the Morrow County Hospital.

Kathleen A. Waters
BLISSFIELD — Kathleen A. Waters, 88, of Blissfield died Saturday, Oct. 14,
2006, at Summerville at HillenVale in Mount Vernon.
She was born July 27, 1918, in Danville to Guy and Ethel (Shrimplin) Awwiller. She married Merton B. Waters on June 29, 1940, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2004. She was a secretary in the Common Pleas Court of Coshocton County under seven different judges. She was assistant postmaster for the Blissfield Post Office and was a member of the Blissfield UMC.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Kempf of Warsaw; son, Randall (Linda) Waters of Jasper, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kade and Kisha Kempf and Whitney Waters; a sister, Margene Albright of Mount Vernon; one niece, Marilyn Nagy of Mount Vernon; one nephew, Alan Albright of Fredericktown; and a great-niece, Annie Nagy of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Awwiller.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with LeRoy Glover and Ron Davis officiating. Burial is in Blissfield Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
