James Harding-Bebout
MOUNT VERNON — James R. Harding-Bebout, 68, of Mount Vernon died Oct. 8,
2006, at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Mount Vernon to Glen and Leora (Scoles) Bebout. He was a member of the Church of God on Henry Road.
He is survived by a brother, William (Margaret) Harding of Fredericktown; an aunt, Edna Boling of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ronald Harding; and a sister, Barbara Graves.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Marcus Harding officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Carleen Kirkpatrick
NEWARK — A funeral service for Frances Carleen Kirkpatrick, 76, of Newark
will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Wilson Cemetery.
Carleen died Oct. 7, 2006, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Webville, Ky., to the late Lindsey and Mona Belle (Moore) Webb. Carleen was an avid dog and animal lover and enjoyed her garden. She retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 85, Newark.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Steve E. Kirkpatrick and friend Brenda Mitchell of Melbourne, Fla., Michael Kirkpatrick of Newark, Tim and Ty Kirkpatrick of Wooster, Joe Barcoci of Mingo Junction, Samuel E. Adrian of Wooster, and Richard and Laura Green of Palm Springs, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane Ellen and Butch Baker of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Barbara Ann Barcoci of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Kay Jean and David Kittel and Karen Sue Dayton, both of Newark; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; uncle, John Moore of Toronto, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and special friend and companion, Nick Crowe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Kirkpatrick; daughter, Joni Lynn Adrian; and brothers, James David and John Allen Sutton.

Opal I. Mizer
HOMER — There will be a private graveside service for Opal I. Mizer, 84,
of Homer at Homer Cemetery with the Rev. Ric Harvel officiating.
Opal died Oct. 6, 2006, at Country Club Retirement Campus, Mount Vernon. She was born May 31, 1922, in Knox County to the late Warren and Zella (Styers) Horton. Opal was a member of Homer Home Extension.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Roger and Janice Mizer of Mount Vernon and John Mizer of Utica; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Baker of Fredericktown, Candy and Donald Wheeler of Mount Vernon and Ernest Hoeflick of Fredericktown; sisters, Garnet Brown of Danville and Thelma Skivers of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Mizer, who died April 16, 2000; daughter, Mary Hoeflick; and brothers, Charles and James Horton.

Mary C. Wood
COLUMBUS — Mary Catherine Wood, 80, of Columbus, formerly of Mount Vernon,
died Oct. 6, 2006, at her residence.
She was born July 21, 1926, in Whitesboro, Texas, to James Andrew and Eva Mae (Copeland) Ricketts. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, and formerly Grace United Methodist Church in Zanesville where she belonged to the Women’s U.M.C. Circle. In later years, she was a charter member of the Rambling Rose Chapter of the Red Hat Society. Mary was an avid Buckeye football fan. She began her working career at Eastern Airlines as a secretary and continued onto WOWO Radio Station in Fort Wayne, Ind. While living in Zanesville she worked as an executive secretary for the MAJVS and at the Grace United Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by two sons, Daniel (Thomas Lowther) Wood of Columbus and Craig (Lisa) Wood of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Christina Leachman of Chillicothe and Sandra (Reed) Volk of Prestonsburg, Ky.; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Bishop of Columbus, Valerie (Jeremy) Tedford of Galloway, Natalie, Andrew and David Leachman of Chillicothe, Eric (Lauren) Volk of Honolulu, Hawaii, Todd Volk of Honolulu, Hawaii, Doug Volk of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Ashley Wood of Grand Blanc, Mich.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L. Franklin Wood, in 2003; a sister, Marjorie Jeffries; and a brother, James Ricketts.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the North-Dilley Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rodney Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
