MOUNT VERNON — Onalee K. Dehaven, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away Wednesday,
Aug. 23, 2006, at the Knox Community Hospital. The arrangements are under the
care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Vernon.
Richard W. Malone
FREDERICKTOWN — Richard Walter Malone, 75, of 13129 Highland Road, Fredericktown,
died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at his residence.
Mr. Malone was born Aug. 23, 1931, in South Webster to the late Sam and Stella (Ealey) Malone. On July 31, 1948, he married Dorothy Dome. She preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 1984. He first retired after 25 years with Central Soya and then retired again after 10 years with the city of Marion.
He is survived by his second wife, Barbara (Large) Malone, whom he married Nov. 2, 1985; three daughters, Hester May (Joe) Fabiny of Waldo, Patricia (Robert) Arthur of Marion and Brenda Kupiec of Mount Vernon; four sons, Walter (Meridith) Malone of Caledonia, Michael Gates of Fredericktown, Thomas (Donna) Gates of Jacksonville, Fla., and John Gates of Lima; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lexie Belcher of Oak Hill, Lelia (June) Simpkins of Marion and Geneva (Roger) Roy of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers; and six sisters.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, with the Rev. Donald Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Heights Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
