Gladys Drenning
MOUNT VERNON — Gladys R. Drenning, 83, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Altoona, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Whispering Hills Care Center.

Born in Hollidaysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Orville and Agnes (Bywater) Weyandt. Mrs. Drenning attended Drummond United Methodist Church in Morgantown, W.Va. (1990-98), and the Faith Baptist Church in Mount Vernon since 1998. In Altoona, Pa., she belonged to the Grace United Church of Christ.

Surviving are sons, Gary (Cindy) Drenning of Hollidaysburg, Pa., and Richard (Sandy) Drenning of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Rob Drenning of Boston, Mass., Corin Drenning of Cincinnati, and Chris Drenning of Indiana, Pa.

On April 19, 1942, she married Louis “Jim” Drenning, who died Oct. 16, 1985. She was also predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Donald Weyandt and James Weyandt.

Friends may call Friday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc., 1204 17th St., Altoona, where a funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Bonebreak will officiate. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township, Altoona.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Grace United Church of Christ, 2300 Eighth Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
