Gladys Fitch
MARENGO — Gladys Fitch, 82, of Marengo died June 2, 2006, in the Morrow County Hospital, Mount Gilead.

She was born March 24, 1924, to Garfield and Elizabeth (Mills) Horn. She worked for the former Simmons Mattress Co. in Columbus, and was a member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church at Mount Gilead.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Mae Spaulding of Marengo; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde Horn; and sisters, Dixie Crum and Ruby Mills.

She was preceded in death her husband, Hobert Fitch; a son-in-law; a grandson; brothers, Carl,Earl, Printis and Ollie Horn; and sisters, Flora Johnson, Margie and Eula Horn, and Iva Hammons.

Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury. Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, 5560 Ohio 95, Mount Gilead. The Rev. William Kirk will officiate. Burial will follow in Marengo Cemetery.

Jean Lathey
CENTERBURG — Jean Lathey, 61, of Centerburg died May 31, 2006.

She was a member of Milford Church of Christ and Mount Vernon TOPS.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer; daughters, Sheila (Robert) Ansel of Mount Vernon, Michele (Mike) Nichols of Centerburg and Cheryl (Jeffrey) Neal of King, N.C.; grandchildren, Shanna and Corey Ansel, Ashley (fiancé, Mike Warner) and Jordan Nichols, Cody Hauser and Dawson Neal; great-grandchildren, Jayda and Lane; parents, Junior and Margaret McKinney of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; seven brothers; three sisters, including her twin sister, Joan (Robert) Swisher of Point Pleasant, W.Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; many special friends and relatives.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Milford Church of Christ, 3648 Johnstown Road, Centerburg, where service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Gary Thomas, minister, will officiate. Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg. Arrangements are by Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, Ohio.

Wendell Wolfe
MOUNT VERNON — Wendell C. Wolfe, 83, of Yauger Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006, at The Inn at HillenVale.

He was born July 2, 1922, in Gambier to Ross E. and Genevieve (Hampshire) Wolfe. Wendell was employed as an expeditor for Cooper-Bessemer for over 39 years. He was commander of the Civil Air Patrol from 1950 to 1980. Wendell was a member of the Mount Zion Lodge 9 F&AM and the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (McConnell) Wolfe; a son Philip (Mary Jane) Wolfe of Duluth, Ga., two daughters, Peggy (William) Pursel and Lou Ann (David) Bouchard, both of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Athena (James) Maynor, Adam Pursel, Bobby Wolfe, Matt Pursel, Angie (Andrew) Thompson, Nicole Bouchard and Andy Bouchard; three great-grandchildren, James Randal Maynor, Caden Maynor, Ian Maynor; and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Duchesne.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert W. Wolfe; and a brother, Lawrence Wolfe.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Union Grove Cemetery.
