Charles ‘Bill’ Evert
MARION — Charles W. “Bill” Evert, 57, of Marion died Sunday,
May 28, 2006, at The Ohio State University Medical Center at Columbus. He had
been a lifelong resident of Marion.
He was born Jan. 25, 1949, to Charles Eugene and Marilyn Bell (Davis) Evert. He was a maintenance mechanic for 38 yeas with Sypris Co. of Marion, formerly Eaton, Ford Division Co.
He is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Lewis) Evert, whom he married in Marion in 1972; two daughters, Cathryn D. (Daniel) Pickett of Columbus and Dr. Michelle D. (Shawn) Carpenter of Mount Vernon; a son, Craig M. (Caroline) Evert of Hilliard; seven grandchildren, Owen, Carson, Carter and Cooper Carpenter, and Nick, Abby and Audrey Evert; and two sisters, Marilyn Baldwin of Marion and Janet Ray of Crestline.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, where the funeral will be Friday, June 2, 4 p.m. The Rev. Randy Davis will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Charles was an organ donor through Lifeline of Ohio. Charles’ legacy lives on with his gift of life through donation.

Carlos H. Higgins
MARENGO — Carlos H. Higgins, 79, of Marengo died May 29, 2006, at Riverside
Hospital in Columbus.
He was born March 28, 1927, in Garrett, Ky., to Harry Proctor and Grace Mae (Pennington) Higgins. He was retired from TWA as a flight information coordinator. He was a former member of Chester Lodge 238 F&AM, and was active with the Boy Scout Troop 47 in Marengo.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Earlie (Wicker) Higgins, whom he married March 25, 1950; sons, Gareth W. (Sue) of Marion, Paul (Cindy) of Delaware and David G. (Debbie) of Marengo; daughter, Carlene (Brad) Coffman of Marengo; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman (Jane) Higgins of Ostrander and Chester (Helen) Higgins of Columbus; and a sister, Dorothy Higgins of Marengo.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Higgins, on June 1, 2005.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at Ohio 61, Sunbury, where service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. Pastor James Brantingham will officiate. Interment will follow in Marengo Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

HOWARD — Richard Keylor of Rutledge Road, Howard, passed away Monday night,
May 29, 2006, at his home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the
Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
Nelfie McFadden
DANVILLE — Nelfie McFadden, 72, of Danville died Sunday, May 28, 2006.
She was born Oct. 17, 1933, in West Virginia to Millard and Amanda Hammons. In 1947 she was married to Ashford McFadden, who died in April of 1972.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Lucy) McFadden, Sharon (Dave) Elliott and Tonya Lester, all of Danville, and Rick (Susie) McFadden of Martinsburg; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Moravy of Mifflin; and a brother, Keith (Norma) Hammons of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rhonda McFadden; and five brothers, Glen, Howard, Hubert, Bruce and Earl Jr. Hammons.
A remembrance service will be held Wednesday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Calling will be from noon until service time. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery. The obituary is online at www.fischerfuneralhome.com.
