Mary Doris Belt
UTICA — A funeral service for Mary Doris Belt, 87, of Utica, will be held Monday, April 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Utica Presbyterian Church with Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

Doris died April 6, 2006, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. She was born June 15, 1918, near Troy, W.Va., to the late Herbert and Sophia (Bode) Spray.

Doris graduated from Troy High School and West Virginia University at Morgantown, W.Va. She was a member of Utica Presbyterian Church and a Sunday school teacher up until four years ago, a retired home economics teacher and a 4-H member. Doris was a charter member of Licking County Home Economics Association.

She is survived by sons, James S. (Virginia) Belt of Utica and William Belt of Alum Bridge, W.Va.; daughters, Linda and Steve Smith of Brandon, Miss., Kathleen and Donald Baughman and Rosanne and John Parkinson, all of Utica; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; brothers, Glenn (Elsie) Spray, Nelson Spray, Rex (Evelyn) Spray, all of Mount Vernon, and sister-in-law, Eloise Spray, wife of Mark, of McConnelsville; and sisters, Frances Varner of Utica and Ruth (Blaine) Kohl of Mount Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ray Belt, who died June 27, 1979; brothers, Howard and Mark; and sisters, Mabel and Lucy.

Renee C. Grennell
UTICA — Calling hours for Renee C. Grennell, 46, of Utica, will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave.

Renee died April 6, 2006, at her residence. She was born Jan. 14, 1960, in Mount Vernon to the late Hubert S. and Evelyn J. (Coe) Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Grennell, son, Shawn M. Grennell, and daughter, Jessica A. Grennell, all of Utica; brother, Ron (Leta) Smith of Mount Vernon; sisters, Jackie (Mike) Frey and Yvette Wessinger, all of Utica, and Leann (Richard) Bescanson of Smithville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Betty Grennell, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lester and Linda Grennell, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patty and Norman Creighton, all of Utica; several nieces and nephews.

Law-Baker Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lyle C. Kaylor
LOUDONVILLE — Lyle C. Kaylor, 69, of Loudonville died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at his sister’s residence in Fort McCoy, Fla., after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer.

He was born July 17, 1936, to the late Curtis and Gladys (Young Kaylor in Greer, Ohio (Knox County). Mr. Kaylor served in the Air Force from 1954-64, and was employed for many years as a quality controller at Ralston-Purina in Denver, Colo.

Surviving are his brother, Robert (Judith) Kaylor of Duluth, Minn.; his sister, Lillian Strouse of Loudonville, with whom he had lived for many years; his nephew, Doug Strouse; and nieces, Gayle (Bruce) Glenn and Rita (Chuck) Henley, also of Loudonville.

Memorial service will be Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 257, 131 S. Water St., Loudonville. Arrangements are by Veterans Funeral Care (800) 467-7850.

Norma I. Scott
MOUNT VERNON — Norma Irene Scott, 77, of Delano Street, Mount Vernon, passed away early Friday morning, April 7, 2006, at the Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon.

She was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Lewis County, Ky., a daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Irene (Cunningham) Carrington. She was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, Mount Vernon. She was an active member of the Barbie Doll Club for several years and she enjoyed gardening and playing cards with her family. Irene was a generous supporter of the Operation Christmas Child for many years.

Irene is survived by her devoted husband, Ernest Scott whom she married on Oct. 26, 1965; her loving children, Philip of Columbus and Catherine of Gahanna; caring stepdaughters, Diane of Mesa, Ariz., Debbie of Prospect and Barbara of San Francisco, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Carrington of Mount Vernon, Homer Carrington of Cincinnati and Steve Carrington of Honduras; and sisters, June Bell of Homer, Shirley Flora of Dayton and Delores Stiles of Marysville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Jr., Allan, Norman and Jesse; and sisters, Myrtle Alice Morrison and Carol Virginia Elliott.

Friends will be received Monday, April 10, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glen Road, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Walter Speece officiating. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery, Brandon.

Evelyn Stateler
FINDLAY — Evelyn L. Stateler, 97, of Findlay died April 7, 2006, at The Heritage in Findlay.

She was born May 10, 1908, in Findlay to Lloyd and Pearl (Pingle) Collins. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Findlay and attended First Christian Church.

She is survived by her niece and longtime care provider, Marsha (Ron) Lasater of Findlay; a nephew, Gary Pickett of Texarkana, Texas; a great-nephew, Brent (Gloria) Lasater of Mount Vernon; two great-nieces, Jenny Lasater of Dublin, Ohio, and Amy (John) Miller of Austin, Texas.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Stateler; a son, Robert Stateler; two brothers, Everett and Gerald Collins; and a sister, Pauline Pickett.

There will be no calling hours. Family will observe private services. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay. The Dilley Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is in charge of the arrangements.
