Emmett J. Hagans
MOUNT VERNON — Emmett J. Hagans, 84, of 317 Teryl Drive, Mount Vernon, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Country Club Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1922, in Tiverton Township to C. Emmett and Flossie L. (Fry) Hagans. He married Nadine (McCurdy) Hagans on Jan. 2, 1942. He was a 1939 graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the Army during World War II at Fort Riley, Kan., and Fort Crockett, Texas. He was the postmaster at Gambier for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Dutch Run Trinity United Church of Christ, was a member of Tony Callamelo’s Dance Band for 10 years, and also was a member of Ohio Masonic Lodge 199 in Bladensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Nadine Hagans of Mount Vernon; daughter, Vivian (Mike) Webb of Lewis Center; son, Jeffry Hagans of Marysville; and daughter, Vickie (Duane) Dugan of Apple Valley. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, where funeral service will be Monday, March 6, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Wayne Harman and Pastor Troy Dugan will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery.

MOUNT VERNON — Ethel M. Hines, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away Friday afternoon, March 3, 2006, at Knox Community Hospital.
