James C. Blackledge
WILMINGTON, Del. —James C. Blackledge, 90, of Wilmington, Del., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.

Mr. Blackledge is formerly of Centerburg, Ohio, and Punta Gorda, Fla. He retired as deputy director for the state of Ohio Department of Savings and Loan. He was a former savings and loan manager in Centerburg and Delaware, Ohio, and Eau Gallie and Fort Pierce, Fla. He was also a former Boy Scout leader.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay (Ron) Bowes of Wilmington, Del.; a son, Marden (Marie) Blackledge of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg. Graveside service and interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg. Leroy Bumpus, minister, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the hospice of one’s choice.

Joyce E. Drabick
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Joyce E. Drabick, 85, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006.

She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She had been a local resident since 1969, after moving to Florida with her husband, Nick, from Ohio. She was the owner of Joyce’s Fashions in Fort Lauderdale until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Nick, in 2005.

She leaves behind her half sister, Sue Rubino, of Santa Clara, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Jan. 7 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were made by Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 299 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Donald E. Hillier Sr.
MOUNT VERNON — Donald E. Hillier Sr., 75, of Mount Vernon died Friday, Feb. 1, 2006, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. Lena G. Weaver
MOUNT VERNON — A funeral service for Lena G. Weaver, 87, of Mount Vernon will be Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Law-Baker Funeral Home. The Revs. Kevin Reed and Gary Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery.

Lena died Jan. 12, 2006, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home at Mount Vernon.

She was born June 2, 1918, in Knox County, to Wylie N. and Cora B. (McKinley) Hayes. She was a member of the South Vernon United Methodist Church, former president of Willing Workers and formerly worked at Kroger.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Reiko Weaver of Sedona, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jason R. Weaver and Jennifer L. Weaver, both of California; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Redlin of Mount Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth H. Weaver, who died in 1978; brother, Leonard Scott Hayes; and sister, Betty Sellers.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.
