Majel L. Duncan
WALHONDING — Majel L. Duncan, 94, of Walhonding, formerly of Brewster, died
Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at the Morning View Care Center in Danville following
an extended illness.
Majel was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Tuscarawas County to William and Nola (Bixler) Duerr. She was a member of St. John’s Church of Christ in Bolivar.
Surviving are her daughter, Sandra (Ralph) Burdge of Walhonding; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, M.J. Duncan, in 1969; an infant son; an infant daughter; and her brother, Robert Duerr.
Private graveside services will be held in Fort Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. The arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

James ‘Don’ Green
GAMBIER — James Donald “Don” Green, 75, of Millersburg Road,
Gambier, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Monroe County to George and Mildred (McCollum) Green. Don retired after 38 years of employment with Continental Can Co.
He is survived by a son, James Edward Green of Mount Vernon; four daughters, Donna (Oscar) Campos of Walhonding, Brenda Fawcett of Mount Vernon, Connie (Tom) Bower of Gambier and Holly (Ron) Moss of Mount Vernon; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard (Kathy) Green of Florida, Jack (Joyce) Green of Mount Vernon and Bill (Linda) Green of Howard; three sisters, Norma Meadows of Mount Vernon, Betty Christianson of Mount Vernon and Kay (Mel) Miller of Mount Vernon; and special friend and companion, Millie Green.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Shreves) Green; two daughters, Karen Sue Bales and Mary Atkins; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Yocum.
Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery.

Gerald L. Tschudi
MOUNT GILEAD — Dr. Gerald L. Tschudi, 69, of Mount Gilead died unexpectedly
Sunday evening, Sept. 25, 2005, at Morrow County Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Joy. A complete obituary will follow in the next edition.
His family will greet friends Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Craven Funeral Home, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead and one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 75 E. High St., Mount Gilead, with Pastor Bruce Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.

Elaine I. Van Winkle
CHESTERVILLE — Elaine Ina Van Winkle, 89, of Chesterville and Fort Myers,
Fla., passed away Sept. 24, 2005, in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born March 12, 1916, in Mount Vernon to Thomas Jefferson and Inez Victoria (Nugent) Hughett. She was a lifelong member of the Pulaskiville Community Bible Church and was a 4-H advisor for 25 years. Lester Eugene Van Winkle, Elaine’s husband, died March 26, 1988. They were married on May 17, 1941.
In addition to her parents and husband, four sisters preceded her in death, Dorothy Evelyn Mears, Helen Virginia Talbot, Edna Ruth Poland and Thelma Jean Eck.
She is survived by a sister, Nell Adair Clemens of Ravenna; children, Gene “Teddy” (George) Todd of Granville, Judy (Keith) Perushek of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jill (Craig) Harruff of Mount Gilead and Kim Van Winkle of Fort Myers, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pulaskiville Community Bible Church, 4865 County Road 98. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Craven Funeral Home, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead.
