Beverly A. Carson
MOUNT VERNON — Beverly A. (Thompson) Carson, 64, of Mount Vernon died Aug. 12, 2005, at her son’s home.

She was born March 11, 1941, in Lock to Harold and Mary (Myers) Chrisman. She was formerly employed by the Centerburg Gazette and Ellis Brothers Concrete. She was a member of the Lock Federated Church, where she was a member of the PPR committee and a member of the Lock Golden Circle.

Surviving are a son, David A. (Lynn) Thompson of Mount Vernon; a daughter, Susan L. (Allen) Lester of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Zechariah Thompson, Dillon and Joshua Lester, John Hillyer and Michael Powell; six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Rosemary Stokes of Newark, Shirley Riley of Wilmington, and Jim and Betty Carson of Kentucky; an aunt, Marge (Gordon) Shuff of Centerburg; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ronald N. Carson.

A funeral was conducted this morning in the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg. The Rev. Rob Law officiated. Interment followed in Lock Cemetery.

Robert T. Huffman
FREDERICKTOWN — Robert T. Huffman, 41, of Fredericktown died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at his residence. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. The obituary and online condolences to the family are at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.

Diane Lincicome
HOWARD — Diane (Peel) Lincicome, 57, of Howard, died Monday evening, Aug. 15, 2005, at Knox Community Hospital.

She was born on July 19, 1948, in Sewickley, Pa. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a volunteer for Hospice of Knox County.

She is survived by her husband, Don Lincicome, to whom she had been married to for 30 years; two sons, Patrick Shaffer and Jeffrey (Laura) Lincicome, both of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two daughters, Kate (Harold) Patton of Shelby and Jennifer (David) Brush of Newport, Mich.; three brothers, John (Johnnie) Peel of Raleigh, N.C., Patrick (Missy) Peel and Chester (Christianne) Peel, both of Oswego, N.Y.; four sisters, Joyce Carte of Sewickley, Pa., Susan (Steve) Alvania of Annandale, Va., Christine (Peter) Broomell of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Sarah (George Bushong) Peel of Bradenton, Fla.; her mother, Patricia C. Peel of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren, Nicholas O’Neil, Abigail Patton, Liam Brush, Merrick Lincicome and Zachary Patton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester A. Peel; a son, Michael Shaffer; and her first husband, Bruce Shaffer.

Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the North-Dilley Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Mount Vernon, where a rosary service will be at 7:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert P. Garland as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Monroe, Mich., at a later date.

Sally Melick
FREDERICKTOWN — A memorial service to celebrate the life of Sara “Sally” Melick will be Sunday, Aug. 21, at 3 p.m. at the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Mike Smith and Charles Lintz will officiate. The Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Melick died Aug. 10, 2005, at Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon.

David E. Underhill
PALMETTO, Fla. — David E. Underhill, 78, of Palmetto, Fla., passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at Manatee Hospital in Florida.

He served in the Navy and retired from PPG in Mount Vernon after 33 years. He then moved to Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lillian (Wheeler) Underhill of Florida; his daughter, Debra (Kevin) Vilfer, and grandson, Christopher, of Hilliard; stepson, Dwight (Billie) Wheeler of Columbus; stepdaughters, Joan (Grayson) Beckner of Naples, Fla., and Deborah Cockrell of Bladensburg; stepgrandchildren, Daniel Cockrell of Fredericktown, Nicholas (Lori) Cockrell of Bladensburg, Heather (John Auker) Cockrell of Mount Vernon; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Carlos Underhill of Bradenton, Fla.; and sister, Berdina Carpenter of Mount Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Dave was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

There were no services conducted.

Paul Zariczny Memorial Service
MOUNT VERNON — Paul Zariczny, 89, of Spruce Street, Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
