Robert Berger Sr.
BUTLER — Robert Ray Berger Sr., 74, of Cleveland Street, Butler, died Monday
morning, June 27, 2005, in his home following a short illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Lucas to John Sr. and Belle Marguerite (Miller) Berger.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Miller) Berger; a son, Robert “Rob” Berger Jr. of Columbus; a daughter, Kandell (John) Mosier of Mansfield; a stepgrandson; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ken Kinley will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunkerhill Cemetery where the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will hold graveside military honors.

Louise Diehl
MEDINA — Louise Diehl passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2005, surrounded
by her loving family members.
She was born in Danville and was a resident of Medina for the past 29 years. Mrs. Diehl enjoyed a long and successful career in real estate. In Medina, she was first a Realtor with Smythe-Cramer Realtors, and later retired from Realty One Realtors.
She is survived by her son, Stephen of New York City; her daughters, Diane (David) Cartwright of Big Bear Lake, Calif., Pat (Carl) Ritterspach and Carmen (Ken) Young of Medina; grandchildren, David Jr., Michael and Stephanie Cartwright, Zachary, Becca and Adam Ritterspach, and Jourdan and Kurt Young; and a sister, Gwendolyn Slaughter of Painted Post, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll; sister, Kate Shorder; brothers, Art and Jeff Smith; and parents, Lewis and Rose Smith.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, with the Rev. Russell Rauscher officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Waite and Sons Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 756 N. Court St., Medina.

Samuel D. McClain
BRINKHAVEN — Samuel David McClain, 87, of State Street, Brinkhaven, died
Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Country Court Nursing Center.
He was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Warsaw to Joseph and Alta B. (Giauque) McClain. On April 4, 1947, he was married to Ruth Pauline Hawkins, who preceded him in death. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Brinkhaven Church of Christ, the American Legion Post 650 and he retired after 30 years as a glass cutter from PPG.
He is survived by a son, Jim (Glenda) McClain of Brinkhaven; daughters, Nancy McClain of Danville, Jeanette (Mitch) Sheldon of Brinkhaven and Connie (Cliff) Looney of Danville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister, Elmer McClain and Mid Wallace of Mount Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two grandsons, Brad and Sam McClain; four brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Lloyd Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Workman Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Jean Ann Williams
MOUNT VERNON — Jean Ann Williams, 70, of Miller Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed
away Monday, June 27, 2005, at the Knox Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Knox County to Daily and Bessie (Kaufman) Morrison. Jean was a member of the South Vernon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Carl E. Williams, whom she married Feb. 4, 1956; a son, Randy (Linda) Kennedy of Alexandria, Va.; four daughters, Carla (Don) Miller of Cape Carteret, N.C., Susan Bowen of Richwood, and Patricia Williams and Karen (Robert) Lee, both of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Joe, Nicky, Jeremy, Katie, Joshua and Megan; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Ruth) Morrison of Fredericktown and Roger (Barb) Morrison of Fredericktown; and two sisters, Helen Day of Mount Gilead and Janet (Marv) Connell of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert “Bob,” Dave, Forest and Kenneth Morrison; and a sister, Marvel Lepley.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where the Rev. Gary Campbell will conduct a funeral service Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
