Ruth Heinlein
MOUNT VERNON — Ruth Heinlein, 81 of Mount Vernon died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.

Ruth was born July 31, 1923, in Coshocton to Charles B. and Lulu B. (Williams) Bell and had spent most of her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Ruth was a graduate of the Mount Vernon Business College and retired from the Ohio Power Co. where she had been employed as an administrative clerk.

Ruth was a faithful member, for over 56 years, of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mount Vernon where she participated in the church choir, served on the worship committee, organized greeters and formerly taught Sunday School.

Ruth supported her children and grandchildren in their activities, including serving as an active member of the Mount Vernon Band Boosters. Ruth was a member of the Ohio Power Veterans Club. Her hobbies included walking, reading and playing cards with her longtime friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Carole A. Pore of Lexington; her son, Stephen J. (Kathy) Heinlein of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyle E. Heinlein, Robert J. Heinlein, Neil S. William, and Christa L. Pore; two nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Jane E. Wolfe; and her former husband of 37 years, John W. Heinlein.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jamie Gump officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.

Irene E. McDonald
MOUNT VERNON — Irene E. McDonald, 95, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at her residence.

Irene was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Knox County to John B. and Eliza Jane (Esterbrook) Carter and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. She was a member of the Beulah United Methodist Church at Bangs.

Surviving are six sons, Carl L. (Zondra) McDonald of Mount Vernon, Robert W. (Alice) McDonald of Loudonville, Charles N. (Shaila) McDonald and Darrell M. (Karen) McDonald, both of Fredericktown, Glen O. (Kay) McDonald of Mount Vernon and Neil G. (Patty) McDonald of Utica; four daughters, Marcina E. (Robert) McFadden of Danville, Marcella I. Graham of Walhonding, Kathleen L. Hunter and Joyce McDonald, both of Mount Vernon; her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen McDonald of Danville; 32 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur McDonald, in 1975; two sons, Lewis McDonald and Edward McDonald; two brothers, Grover Carter and Marcus Carter; and two sisters, Mabel Brooks and Pauline Moore.

Friends may call Friday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, where funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Philip McMurrin will officiate. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Floyd A. Reese
MOUNT VERNON — Floyd A. Reese, 82, of Follin Avenue, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Jackson, Mich., to Lee and Blanch (Nantenbe) Reese. Mr. Reese had worked as a draftsman for the Horton Elevator Co. in Toledo.

He is survived by a son, Jerry (Marta) Reese of Mary Ester, Fla.; three grandchildren, Richard Reese, Catherine Reese and Edward Reese; a brother, Donald Reese; and a sister, Susan Reese.

A graveside service, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will be Saturday, June 25,2005, at 2 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn Z. Watson
MOUNT VERNON — Evelyn Z. Watson of Mount Vernon died June 7, 2005, at her residence.

She was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Martin G. and Georgiana (Weaver) Weidman. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), past president of Soroptimist Club and past matron of Knox Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She worked for 28 years at Citizens Building and Loan and then retired after six years with Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Bank in 1978.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Watson, in 1982.

there will be no calling hours. Private service will be conducted at a later date in Mound View Cemetery. The North-Dilley Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangement.

Esther Yarman
MOUNT VERNON — Esther Yarman, 97, of Wooster Road, Mount Vernon, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Country Club Retirement Campus. The services are under the care and direction of the Snyder Funeral Homes.
